ENACTUS / Phi Beta Lambda (PBL)
ENACTUS challenges students to take what they learn in the classroom and apply their knowledge in real working situations. ENACTUS challenges businesses to become involved through sponsorship, by mentoring and partnering with students on projects. It gives students the opportunity to improve presentation skills, learn leadership skills, test project management skills, manage projects with real budgets, and design web pages, as well as other talents. ENACTUS provides an opportunity for students to apply what they are learning and watch skill sets grow in a dynamic team environment. When it comes to planning for a career after college, ENACTUS students have a tremendous advantage. The best companies in the world recognize the value of the ENACTUS experience and compete for the chance to meet and recruit ENACTUS students. The ENACTUS organization assists Culver-Stockton College’s Career Services with on-campus activities for campus-wide career fairs, mock interviews (including resume reviews for students), and the Business, Education, and Law Division’s annual High School Visit Day. ENACTUS competes annually in a regional competition with formal presentations of the group’s activities. The group was Regional champion in 2016 and advanced to the National Competition. They were first runner up Regionals in 2014-15, and second runner up Regionals in 2013.
Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) partners with ENACTUS for ENACTUS events and activities. In addition, PBL members participate in PBL’s March of Dimes philanthropy and compete each year in state and national academic testing conferences. Culver-Stockton students received both state and national recognition/awards since 2013, with the exception of 2016. Individual awards attached in Appendix Q.
